Diabetes mellitus

Diabetes mellitus (DM), commonly referred to as diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. Symptoms of high blood sugar include frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger. If left untreated, diabetes can cause many complications.Acute complications can include diabetic ketoacidosis, nonketotic hyperosmolar coma, or death. Serious long-term complications include heart disease, stroke,chronic kidney failure, foot ulcers, and damage to the eyes.

Diabetes Type 1

Diabetes type 1 is a result of increased sugar level in blood. This raised existence of glucose (sugar level) in blood occurs due to deficiency or  inactivity of ‘Insulin’ hormone. Insulin is really imperative for metabolism of glucose in the body. The Diabetes is a serious problem and if not treated have tendency to form critical complications.

Diabetes Type 2

Diabetes Type 2 is a metabolic disorder which is predominantly featured by opposition of insulin, successively hyperglycemia and relative insulin deficiency. This occurs due to increased glucose level in blood. This is caused due to lack of or declined activity of Insulin hormone necessary for glucose metabolism.
